I'm always looking for ways to reduce shipping rates and I'm meticulous about packaging to ensure your new paintings and prints get to you in the exact same condition they left my studio. Here are a few useful things to know about shipping:

Free shipping for prints to Canada, US, UK, EU and Australia: International shipping from Canada is generally quite expensive, so I'm very excited to offer free shipping for light/small items like prints thanks to ChitChats! The tradeoff is that it takes a little longer for international shipments: about 5 business days to the US and 10 business days to Europe and Australia. If you prefer, you can still choose a faster shipping method at checkout (UPS 3-day), but it's not free.

Insurance: all shipments are insured to the full amount against damage and loss. Please contact me regarding any issues with your package and I'll sort it out.

Tracking: I'll send you the tracking link when I ship your order.

Taxes for customers in Canada

You pay GST/HST at checkout based on the rate in your province and I remit it to the government. My GST number is 764036489 RT 0001. That's it!

Taxes and fees for international customers

I am based in Toronto, Canada, and so shipments to international customers have to go through customs in your country. This page is to give you some idea about what fees to expect when your package is delivered to you.

United States

  • For orders under US$800, no state/county sales tax and no customs brokerage fee.
  • For orders above US$800, please contact me and I'll find out. There might be a brokerage fee.
  • You don't pay any Canadian tax.
  • There are no duties/tariffs on import of art from Canada.

  • Prints: no tax at checkout, no brokerage fee, 10% GST on delivery
  • Everything else: no tax at checkout, 10% GST on delivery, brokerage fee under AUD$20 on delivery.
  • You don't pay any Canadian tax.
  • No duties/tariffs on imports of art from Canada.

European Union and United Kingdom

  • For prints: you pay VAT on delivery and no brokerage fee. You pay no tax at checkout.
  • For everything else: you pay VAT and the brokerage fee on delivery. Brokerage fee is under 20 euros/15 pounds. The very annoying brokerage fee is paid to the shipping company for representing you to clear the package through customs.
  • No duties/tariffs on imports of art from Canada.

Good news: there are reduced VAT rates on imports of art in the UK and many of the EU countries! Here's a summary of what they are, to the best of my knowledge. Here's the official source of this information from the European Commission, from July 2019. Please understand that this is for your convenience only, I'm not an expert on tax law of your country and these rates might change. Worst case, you get charged the normal VAT applicable in your country. If you find that any of this information is inaccurate, please let me know and I'll fix it!
